Say Goodnight, Gracie SAY GOODNIGHT, GRACIE is a historical romance, but it is not part of the Rancher's Daughters series. Instead, it's part of a delightful series developed by authors Pam McCutcheon, Karen Fox, and myself. It concerns three young ladies in 1880's Colorado Springs, daughters of a nouveau-riche silver-baron and his socially challenged wife. Though named after the three graces of Greek mythology, Belle is decidedly plain, Charisma is not the least bit charming, and Grace is a klutz. Then the girls make a wish at the Three Graces monument in the Garden of the Gods and get some decidedly unusual help from three verrrry old fairy godmothers! I like this cover quite a bit. It's bright and eye-catching, and the old-fashioned button-up shoe captures the sense of the period beautifully. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, would be that it doesn't match the first two books in the "Three Graces" series, BELLE OF THE BALL by Pam McCutcheon and A TOUCH OF CHARM by Karen Fox. |

The Title: My working title for this book was simply GRACE. Once we had to come up with something more complex, I pushed for FALLEN FROM GRACE. Jon is, after all, literally felled by the heroine in the first chapter, when he breaks his leg saving her life. Either another book was already out with that title, or it didn't capture the comedic tone well enough, however, because Zebra changed it to SAY GOODNIGHT, GRACIE. It's somewhat anachronistic, since George Burns hadn't yet been born, much less coined the phrase, in the mid-1880's. But it does have a more comedic sound, which fits the book. |

"Jocks has written a humorous yet poignant coming-of-age love story. This
latest installment in the Sullivan Sisters series is a romance whose sweetness
will touch your heart. SWEET." |

I was even inspired by the relationship between his character and that of young Meeno Peluce in VOYAGERS! (one of my favorite shows ever) when I created the character of Gio, although Gio is younger than the character of Jeffrey in the TV show.
